Hall & Towse South Ltd v Ivory Gate Ltd 62 Con LR 117 
Hall & Towse carried out refurbishment work to premises in Jermyn Street owned by Ivory Gate pursuant to a Letter of Intent dated 23 October 1995. HHJ Thornton QC found that by starting work Hall & Towse accepted the offer contained in the Letter of Intent resulting in a provisional contract. The contract was a bilateral one that required Hall & Towse to complete the works in a reasonable time for a reasonable sum. As far as reasonably possible, valuations were to be carried out in accordance with the JCT provisions referred to in the letter of intent.
